Birds & Landscapes of South Texas - December 7-14, 2024

from $2,700.00
sold out

Saturday, December 7 – Saturday, December 14, 2024

Explore the unique landscapes of South Texas with its unique avifauna. Texas is home to 675 species of birds - the most of any US state except California, including many species found nowhere else in the country. Many are Central American and Mexican species that barely extend their ranges into the US - Texas was once part of Mexico after all! Up to 200 species could be possible on this week-long trip.

Several are extremely rare, such as the endangered Whooping Cranes and Aplomado Falcons. Species that infrequently cross the border from Mexico add the excitement of potential rarities to the mix! South Texas in December is also home to great numbers of migrating or wintering waterfowl, shorebirds, and more.

Travel from San Antonio to Corpus Christi to Alamo, McAllen, and Salineño along the Rio Grande.

Price includes all lodging, ground transportation, local guide, park entry fees, and some meals.
