Costa Rica 2023 (Feb. 18-26)

Itinerary:

Feb. 18: Fly into San Jose, stay at the Hotel Aeropuerto

Feb. 19 & 20: Travel to Arenal, stay at the Arenal Observatory Lodge(foothill rainforest on the slopes of the Arenal Volcano, with over 500 species of birds!)

Feb. 21 & 22: Bosque de Paz Lodge (sustainable eco-lodge in cloud forest habitat, with nearly 420 bird species and nearby hot springs)

Feb. 23 & 24: Travel to Refugio de Vida Silvestre Caño Negro (remote lowland jungle wetlands on the Nicaraguan border) for waterfowl and other wildlife. Explore the wetlands by boat, stay in air conditioned comfort at the Natural Lodge Caño Negro

Feb. 25: Back to San Jose with a stop at the beautiful Soda Mirador Cinchona. Stay at Hotel Robledal (dry forest habitat)

Feb. 26: Breakfast & more birding at Hotel Robledal, Flight home (SJO)
